The first of our Art Project Videos
As you know we recently had a film crew in the classroom watching some of the things we have been doing. One of the projects we showed them on the day was how we are using Green Screen Filmmaking techniques in Art and English. The children were divided into groups with each group given a painting. As we have been doing descriptive writing in class recently the children were tasked with imagining they were in their painting. They write a narrative for this and then recorded themselves reading this. Then we green screened the children in to their painting and they added the narration as well as some music they composed using Garageband. The whole project was completed on an iPad. Stay tuned to this page for more of the children projects as they finish them.
Marta's Sea Serpent
It took me far too long to share this but here is an amazing drawing of a sea serpent made by Marta. I can't believe the amount of detail in this. Well done Marta.
Carnevale in Venice
last week we looked at the masks people wear for the carnival in Venice. We did some sample ones but this week we will be trying to paint our very own masks.
Snowflakes
Since the weather got a little chilly but there was no sign of snow we decided to make our very own 3d snowflakes. Kids seemed to really enjoy this activity and the results looked amazing.
Modular Origami
Today we tackled Modular Origami. This is something that is not easy to do and we had many frustrated kids in class at times. But everyone persevered and we all got loads made in the end. Those that finished theirs early also helped everyone else. It was great to see everyone live by the motto "If at first you don't succeed, then try and try again." Again 4th Class A have a very proud teacher heading home for the weekend. I don't think there is anything this class cannot do when they set their minds to it.
Winter Craft Fair
So proud of everyone today. Without any prompting some of the kids decided to make some more Ojos de Dios and give them to the Parents Association to sell at the Craft Fair. We made some more today in class and some of the kids have been making them at home as well. Well done everyone. 😀 Arda also made some amazing crafts at home using wool. We have a very talented group of kids in 4th Class A.
Ojos de Dios
Today we made Ojos de Dios. These are also called Gods Eye and are an ancient symbol made by the Huichol Indians of Mexico and the Aymara Indians of Bolivia. In Mexico the central eye was made when a child was born. Each year another section was added until the child turned 5 when it was then completed. These are some of the ones we made today. The kids came up with some amazing designs.
Dress Up Day-Halloween 2016
The kids made such an effort to dress up on the day that it could only be called Art. :)
