On this page I would like to share some resources that might be useful to you as a parent especially when it comes to children and the Internet, social media, etc.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
Over the next few weeks we will be celebrating all things Irish. On the 10th March we will be having a Lá Glas (Green Day) and the children and teachers are all being encouraged to come to school wearing Green. There will be lots of fun activities over the weeks with each class performing a song in Irish in front of the school. We will be covering happy by Pharell Williams in Irish and preparations have already started. They might even get to see their teacher dancing the Ionsaí na hInse (The Siege of Ennis). :)
World Book Day
World Book Day will be celebrated in Carrigaline Educate Together National School on Thursday March 2nd.
We will be participating in a shared reading exercise on the day with Senior Infants.
On the day we will also be running a book swap. Children are encouraged to bring in a pre- loved book to swap for a different one . Any children who wish to participate should bring in their book and one Euro. Books will be collected early in the morning and children will then be given the opportunity to come to the Halla and pick a new one.
It has been tradition for both teachers and children to dress up on the day as favourite characters from stories so feel free to do so again this year if you wish. Please remind the children that scary costumes are not allowed.
